Alternative Manufacturing, Inc. of Winthrop has teamed with Western Maine Community Action, a partner of the Lewiston and Augusta CareerCenters, to develop an on-the-job training program. WMCA provides grant funding to qualified candidates to enter into training programs supported by participating businesses in healthcare, manufacturing, technology, and other fields, while the employers provide paid, on-the-job training to employees engaged in productive work resulting in knowledge or skills essential to the job.
