Sue Martin

The Lewiston-Auburn CA$H Coalition has filled its open positions of Program Coordinator and Asset Coordinator for the 2017 tax season.

The new Program Coordinator will be Sue Martin, former Chief Academic Officer for the Lewiston Public Schools. In this position, Martin will lead the Coalition’s efforts, succeeding long-time Site Coordinator KC Geiger, who retired from the role after the 2016 tax season. In the next two months, Martin will work to implement the site’s use of new Taxslayer tax preparation software, connect with volunteers, and meet with Coalition members.

The new Asset Coordinator will be Linda Cronkite, who served as a 2016 tax season volunteer and brings to the position leadership experience in the areas of education and financial literacy. Cronkite will lead a group of volunteer Opportunity Guides charged with providing financial literacy information to individuals and families when they visit the Armory to have their tax returns prepared.

The multi-partner Coalition was established by the City of Lewiston in 2003, and its IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers have since facilitated the claiming of over $29 million in Federal and State tax refunds. The Coalition also provides asset-building assistance to those who visit the tax site and strives to inform them about tax credits for which they may be eligible, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). All services are provided free of charge to local individuals and families with low to moderate incomes at the Lewiston Memorial Armory during a ten-week period from January through March.
