Former Bruins lace up for PAL All-Star Game
The Lewiston Police Athletic League (PAL) will present its annual Lewiston PAL All-Star Hockey Game, featuring former Boston Bruins players, on Friday, December 19 at 7 p.m. at the Androscogging Bank Colisee in Lewiston. Now running for over a decade, the game has become a local tradition, last year bringing out a near capacity crowd to watch former Bruins, including Kenny “The Rat” Linseman, Reggie Lemelin and John Carter, take to the Colisee ice. In addition to the game, there will be opportunities for autographs and photos with the players.
Proceeds from this fundraising event will benefit Lewiston PAL youth athletics programs throughout Androscoggin County. Tickets are being sold on a donations basis and can be purchased by calling East Coast Marketing Group at 432-6968 or the Lewiston Police Department at 513-3139. Families are welcome and children under age 12 will enter at no charge. Doors will open at 6. p.m. The Colisee is located at 90 Birch Street in Lewiston. Licensed in Maine as a charitable organization, the Lewiston Police Athletic League (PAL) serves Androscoggin County by providing funding and support for various youth athletics programs. It has donated at least one golf cart to each high school in the county to assist school athletic directors to more quickly move medical and other needed gear from field to field and has been an avid supporter of annual Easter, Halloween and National Nite Out events.
Yearly telephone solicitation and mailings to support PAL programs in 2015 are currently underway. For more information or to make a donation, contact Lewiston Police Detective Bill Brochu at 513-3093 or wbrochu@lewistonmaine.gov.
