Help a Gorham Child Celebrate ‘The Meaning of Christmas’
GORHAM, ME (November 18, 2022) — It’s time! The requests are starting to come in from the schools and lists will be going live soon. Please head over to The Meaning of Christmas Project‘s Facebook page and find out how to help make Christmas a little brighter for a local child!
Here’s how you can help:
1) Send a PM with your name, phone number, and email to The Meaning of Christmas Project‘s Facebook Messenger. If you would be okay with texts, include that in your message (Things got crazy working through Messenger last year!)
2) Please message *roughly* what you can help with.
For example: we had people donate everything from an electric keyboard to game consoles to $10 gift cards last year. Some people just wanted to Venmo money to keep it simple. There are lots of ways you can help!
3) You will get a response with a “match” as soon as one is made and/or an Amazon Wish List will be shared with you.
4) Presents or items will need to be dropped off by the 15th of December. If absolutely necessary, they can be picked up. Last year people sent them directly via Amazon. That’s fine too!
5) Thank yourself for doing what you can to make a kid’s life a little brighter at a time of year that is notoriously difficult for so many.

Town of Gorham Issues Trash Reminders
GORHAM, ME (November 11, 2022) — Trash needs to be curbside by 7am the day of collection or the night before. To prevent weather and animals from making a mess of trash, residents are encouraged to purchase trash cans. Trash will not be collected if it’s not curbside by 7am, if a tag is not visible or if the tag has been tampered with. Each bag must have a tag!
There will be no trash or recycling collection on the following four holidays:
1. New Year’s Day, January 1st
2. Independence Day, July 4th
3. Thanksgiving Day, last Thursday in November
4. Christmas, December 25th
Trash will be delayed one day on the observed holidays. For example, if the holiday observed falls on a Monday, trash will be picked up on Tuesday. This pushes trash and recycling collection for the rest of the week one (1) day. This Thanksgiving, 11/24/2022, Thursday collection will be collected Friday, 11/25/2022.
If there will be a delay or cancelation of trash due to weather conditions, we will post information to the Town Facebook page as well as the Gorham Town website. Subscribe to the website to get an automatic email when information is published.
If there are questions or concerns, give the office a call. We are more than happy to help.

More about Land of Outcasts: A world-weary gunslinger. A snarky battle unicorn. A new job at the edge of the known world. What could go wrong? Eli and his battle-unicorn partner, Sasha, hope to be forgotten in the expansive swampland known as The Green. When a woman offers them a job, it seems like the perfect payday to tide them over. However, even if they survive The Green, completing their job and finding a way to go home will be no easy task. What’s a pair of mercenaries to do when faced with a dire situation and no good choices? Something stupid, probably.
