Venue: Portland Conservatory of Music, 28 Neal Street, Portland, Maine 04102

This exciting music documentary, which won the Best Story at International Filmmaker Festival in Nice in 2016, features the story of the soaring saxophonist/flutist Thomas Chapin whose life was sadly cut short at 40, but not before his passionate playing won him a huge following on the international jazz festival circuit.

The NY Times called him “ a virtuoso, one of the more exuberant bandleaders in jazz…who could move easily between traditional jazz and the avant-garde.”

Nightbird Song, which features interviews and footage of Chapin, will be followed by a very special guest appearance by his longtime drummer, Michael Sarin, who will share some of his memories and host a Q&A with the audience.

Please join us for this fascinating evening of Jazz, July 17th at 7PM. The movie is FREE (donations accepted!) but tickets must be reserved in advance at www.PortlandConservatoryofMusic.org/events
