Liberty Festival fundraiser is Saturday at Gritty’s
The 15th Annual Liberty Festival planning is been well underway, and a fundraiser is planned for Saturday to support the festival.
The fundraiser event is Saturday, June 11 from 8 p.m. to midnight at Gritty McDuff’s in Auburn. “Bring out your patriotic colors!” says Michael Koch, event coordinator and committee member.
The Independence Day Committee has teamed up with Gritty’s in Auburn, so come enjoy some great music by Jay Staples and John Boucher from the band Drive, who will be performing their acoustic act “Drive Unleaded.” A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to this year’s July 4th Celebration.
Although the Cities of Lewiston and Auburn generously share the costs of the fireworks for the 4th of July, the Festival Committee needs the help from the general community to fund the remainder of this great American 4th of July Independence Day event here in L-A. Local businesses can help with their donations by a visit online at the IDC website at www.libertyfestival.org.
This year the committee will host two music venues, one on each side of the river. In Lewiston, you will be entertained by Terry and the Telstars, Rob Washington, Elvis Impersonator and Skosh, an up-and-coming rock band.
The Independence Day Committee is planning a Downtown Auburn “Block Party” with Gritty McDuff’s on the Festival Plaza and great music in Main Street. The IDC is also planning a VIP Party to thank sponsors at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn with a special guest band. The VIP party is open to the public at $15 per person.
The Independence Day Committee thanks all the donors and invites everyone to the fundraiser as Gritty’s on June 11 and to the activities on July 4th for the American Independence Day Celebration and fireworks.
