Gorham Asked to Stay off Ice, Try Other Outdoor Activities

GORHAM, ME (January 14, 2023) — We at Gorham Rec Department are sad that it is mid-January and 50 degrees (and very little snow). We wish we had everyone out snowshoeing, ice-skating, cross-country skiing, and making snowmen. However, these are not the cards we were dealt.

We are asking you to stay off the “ice” water of the skating rinks. Even with colder temps in the overnight hours, it’s not consistent enough to freeze the water to a solid, smooth ice-skating rink. Looking at the weather forecast, it may be a bit before they are ready.

Please look for alternative opportunities to get outside!
