Moxie Recipe Contest draws celebrity judges

Moxie Recipe Contest coordinator Julie-Ann Baumer has recruited a panel of celebrity judges for this year’s event, taking place Friday, July 12 at Chummy’s Midtown Diner in Lisbon.

Along with a new day and venue, this year’s Moxie Festival Recipe Contest will feature a slate of celebrity judges
to sample those Moxie-enhanced culinary creations.
This year’s contest will take place on Friday, July 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chummy’s Midtown Diner in Lisbon.
Judges for the event will be Maine restaurateur Linda Bean; “Better Than Average” jam, jellies and sauces creator
Sharon Bissonette; “Wicked Whoopies” creator Amy Bouchard; “Yankee Chef” food writer Jim Bailey; and “Moxie:
Maine in a Bottle” (Down East Books, 2012) author Jim Baumer.
Contest entries should be in the following categories: Moxie Savory (entrees, casseroles, main dishes, meat
creations); Moxie Sweet (all manner of desserts); or Moxie Kitchen Sink (everything else, i.e. salad dressings,
marinades, dips). A prize will be awarded for the winning entry in each category, along with one grand prize.
The deadline to register is July 2. The first 25 to register will receive Moxie “swag bags.” To register, go to

The annual three-day Moxie Festival draws over 50,000 people to the Town of Lisbon. This year’s event, taking
place July 12-14, will feature a parade, 5k run, car show, ATV charity ride, concert, pow-wow, fireworks, family fair,

  • I guess my entry would fall under Moxie Kitchen Sink.
    As The Moxie Mentor, I empower female financial advisors to lasting success in this male dominated career. For 27 years I was an FFA and had to find my way using Moxie. Most women in this industry were trained by a man, to sell like a man, to a man.
