Celebration Barn presents “Summer Finale” program
Celebration Barn Theater of South Paris will present its “Summer Finale” on Friday August 30 and Saturday August 31 at 8 p.m. The two shows celebrate the end of the Barn’s summer programming season with new work by special guest artists Hilary Chaplain, David Gaines, Aaron Tucker, and others.
An acclaimed physical comedienne and actress, Hilary Chaplain has performed her award-winning original solo and ensemble work around the world. Hot on the heels of presenting her solo show, “A Life In Her Day,” at the Barn, Chaplain returns for the Summer Finale with a fresh set of performance pieces.
A protégée of the famed Jacque Lecoq, David Gaines has become an eminent physical theater performer and teacher in his own right. He performs with the Big Apple Circus’ Clown Care Unit in the Baltimore and D.C. areas, but is probably best known for his tour de force, “7 (x1) Samurai,” in which he single-handedly reenacts the classic Kurosawa film in a show the Washington Post calls, “riotous,” “rollicking,” and “acrobatic genius.”
Barn audiences will recognize Aaron Tucker as one third of the comic trio from “The Fabulous Problemas,” a show that was created and recently presented at Celebration Barn Theater. Tucker has toured extensively with Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus and with the Kinoshita Circus of Japan. He currently performs with the Big Apple Circus’ Clown Care Unit in the Boston area.
Doors for the shows open at 7:30. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $8 for students and kids. Purchase tickets in advance by calling the Celebration Barn Theater’s box office at (207) 743-8452.
Celebration Barn Theater is located just off Route #117, at 190 Stock Farm Road in South Paris. For more information, see www.CelebrationBarn.com.
