150 New Jobs Coming to Lewiston

Argo

Argo Marketing Group founder and CEO Jason Levesque discusses plans to renovate the former McCrory’s department store building in downtown Lewiston. Behind him are (l. to r.) Career Center Manager Mary LaFontaine, Lewiston Mayor Robert Macdonald, Maine Dept. of Economic & Community Development Commissioner George Gervais, and Androscoggin Chamber President Chip Morrison.

A key building in downtown Lewiston will soon get new life, according to plans announced recently by the City of Lewiston. Argo Marketing Group’s projected hiring of 150 additional full-time employees over the next twelve months is prompting the company’s planned $2.4 million renovation of the former McCrory’s department store into a state-of-the-art customer contact facility and corporate headquarters.

Known for their cutting edge customer contact techniques and innovative technology initiatives, Argo Marketing Group helps provides their clients with customer support services through a variety of different mediums, data analytics, and customized software programs. Their new location in downtown Lewiston will incorporate a state-of-the-art contact center, including on-site training facilities, as well as potential retail and restaurant store fronts.

Lewiston showed their support for Argo’s expansion by developing a public-private partnership specifically designed to facilitating the company’s redevelopment of this long-vacant property. The City will provide up to $150,000 in Façade Grant/Loan funds and up to $100,000 in Life Safety Grant/Loan funds. Half of the City’s investments will be provided as grants while the other half will be provided as a zero percent interest loan with a 10-year term. Argo will match the city’s investments on a 50/50 basis.

The City Council is slated to take action on a 10-year Tax Increment Financing District and Program (TIF) that will return an estimated $147,000 of the new taxes generated from the TIF District to Argo over the term of the TIF. The City will retain an estimated $198,000 of those taxes in the City’s TIF account, using the funds to support other downtown redevelopment programs, initiatives, and infrastructure needs, including Riverfront Island improvements.

“The City of Lewiston is pleased to have a company as widely respected as Argo Marketing Group be a part of our downtown revitalization efforts,” said Lewiston Mayor Robert E. Macdonald. “This is another positive addition to downtown Lewiston. The fact that businesses continue to locate here is a testament to the business-friendly environment we have to offer.”

“I am excited to be part of an amazing downtown and look forward to the day when hundreds of current and new Argo employees will be located here, shopping, eating, and adding to an already vibrant city,” said Jason Levesque, Founder and CEO of Argo Marketing Group. “I hope that our expansion in Lewiston helps people from around the state realize that it’s not just “happening here,” but rather, that it’s already “happened here” and will continue to do so for years to come.

The  planned $2.4 million renovation will incorporate a state-of-the-art contact center as well as potential retail and restaurant store fronts.

Levesque and Lepage, long time bedmates.

Ask levesque about hailing to pay ovis companies numerous (non-reported) labor violations. Thats right, not reported because reporting him will get you fired, then lepages cronies will fiore any state unemploym, ent worker that doesnt back him up.

    Cronyism and crooked politics, friends.

Hey levesque, stop failing to pay people overtime when they work it. Stop your tactics of making them signout to use the restroom and deducting that time from their pay. stop squeezing every penny from your workers pockets so you can continue to get filthier rich. offer a health plan thats affordable.
