Maine Music Society presents “A Heritage Christmas”
The Maine Music Society is excited to share the joy of the holidays with you as they present “A Heritage Christmas” on December 8, 9 and 15.
This year’s performance of A Heritage Christmas will join the voices of the Androscoggin Chorale with those of the Lewiston High School Chamber Choir under the direction of Darren Avery. Each choir will perform works of its choosing and then the choirs will combine to celebrate music of this holiday season.
Favorites of the season will include Carol of the Bells, Ding Dong Merrily on High, and many more. Aided by the talented Bridget Convey, accompanist, the Chamber Choir and Chorale will conclude the concert with the incredible Hodie! by Z. Randall Stroope. To complete the concert, Maestro Corrie will invite the audience once again to sing several traditional Christmas carols with the combined choirs.
The Silent Auction on December 8 and 9 will have many wonderful holiday gift items on display and open for bids in the downstairs social hall one hour before concerts, during intermissions, and a half-hour after concerts. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available to guests to peruse the items and submit their bids. Bidding will close a half-hour after the Sunday concert. Guests do not have to be present to win, but they can take their items with them if they are present at the closing.
The Saturday, December 8 performance is a 7:30 p.m.; and the Sunday, December 9 performance is at 3 p.m. Both of these performances will take place at the Franco American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston and will include a Silent Auction featuring wonderful holiday gifts.
The Saturday, December 15 show is at 7:30 p.m. and will be performed at the First Congregational Church located at 17 East Main St, South Paris. Tickets to these performances are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, $9 for students, and children under 12 are free.
